Location. The Cahernane House Hotel resides on a 17th century estate in Killarney, Ireland. A tunnel of greenery leads to the hotel entrance, located at the edge of Killarney National Park.
Hotel Features. Styled after a 17th century country house, the Herbert Room Restaurant serves specialties such as Pan Fried Veal Medallions and Wild Mushrooms with garlic and mustard cream. Toffee colored easy chairs and exposed brick keep the Cellar Bar warm and inviting. A library, drawing room and conservatory create a sense of home, with comfortable furnishings, al fresco dining on a terrace and crackling fires. The Pembroke Room holds up to 14 delegates for intimate meetings and functions. Mountain vistas and walking paths surround the hotel, and tennis and croquet are available on site. The hotel can arrange a private gillie for fishing jaunts.
Guestrooms. Antique and garden guestrooms feature furnished patios, fruit bowls, mineral water and chocolates. Marble bathrooms offer bathrobes and slippers. Turndown service is available in the evenings.
Expert Tip. Dating back to the 17th century, the hotel was once the site of the residence of the Herbert Family, Earls of Pembroke.
