The Dorisol Bungavilia is a modern aparthotel set 500 metres from the Atlantic Ocean on the south coast of Madeira, two kilometres from Funchal city centre. The 107 apartments open onto furnished balconies offering views of Funchal Bay, and have modern decor in neutral colours with simple pine wood furnishings and laminate floors. Apartments feature kitchenettes with microwaves, refrigerators, and cookware, satellite television and direct dial telephones. Bathrooms provide showers and hair dryers.
Guests can relax on the sun beds beside one of two outdoor pools, or enjoy a swim in the indoor pool. Those who like to stay fit can work out at the fitness centre, which also includes a sauna and spa tub, or play a game of tennis. Children will enjoy the games room, playground, and animation and entertainment program. Free, daily recreational activities are on offer, and may include football or tennis tournaments, aerobics, mini bowling, petanque, and Portuguese lessons. Diners can enjoy a range of dishes and drinks at the Mermaid Bar or Restaurant, and after a meal guests can dance the night away at the Blue Moon Bar. Practical amenities include a laundry service and babysitting service. Guests can take a stroll to the lido and promenade, 500 metres away, or visit the Madeira Wine Company, two kilometres away. Madeira International Airport is 20 kilometres from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 25 minutes.
