Built using traditional materials and designed to look like a typical Madeiran village, the Pestana Village consists of low rise buildings set in extensive landscaped tropical gardens. All offering balconies with sea, garden or mountain views, the 92 guest apartments feature contemporary decor in neutral colours with traditional style furniture. Amenities include kitchenettes, satellite television, direct dial phones, dial up Internet access, and bathrooms with hair dryers and bathrobes.
Guests can lounge beside the outdoor heated swimming pool and relax in the shade of a palm or a parasol with a drink from the poolside bar. Younger guests are kept busy at the kids club and can splash in their own separate swimming pool, while guest of all ages can enjoy giant chess in the hotel's gardens, billiards in the games room and guided tours of the hotel gardens. Guests can dine on barbeque specialties, traditional Portuguese dishes, fresh fish and international cuisine in the five on site eateries and enjoy live music and dancing in the plant filled cocktail bar. The hotel's health and fitness centre incorporates an indoor lap pool as well as a gym, sauna, solarium and steam room, while those who enjoy outdoor activities can join organised excursions of the island and Levada walks. Guests can stay on line during their holiday thanks to Internet access in the lobby and enjoy meals and drinks in the privacy of their rooms at any hour thanks to round the clock room service. The beach is directly accessible via the pool area of the neighbouring Pestana Carlton Hotel and golfers can book sessions at Palheiro golf course (less than five kilometres away)through the hotel, which operates a shuttle service to the course. The famous botanic gardens in central Funchal are within a kilometre and the yacht harbour is within two kilometres. Madeira airport is 20 kilometres and a 15 minute journey away.
